Hotel U Zlaté studně (Golden Well) in Prague is the best luxury hotel in Europe according to visitors of the travel site TripAdvisor. In a worldwide comparison of 25 luxury hotels it took third place overall. Also making the top 25 European hotels was Prague's Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa, which ranked twenty-first on the Travelers' Choice 2016 list.

General renovations of the facade on the tower of the Old Town Hall, with its bay chapel and astronomical clock, will begin this year. The repairs will entail operating restrictions for the look-out tower, which will be closed next year for the time absolutely necessary. The expected completion of construction work is planned for October of 2018.

The Old Town Square with its Advent markets is the most beautiful Christmas location in the world. So decided readers of the prestigious US paper USA Today, who voted in an internet poll from 1–21 December of last year. In second place behind Prague was Puerto Rico and in third America's "Christmas Town" McAdenville, North Carolina.

The new Managing Director of the Prague Convention Bureau as of 1 January 2016 is Roman Muška. He replaced Lenka Jarošová as head of PCB, who decided to end her career at the organisation as of the end of 2015.

At the 25th annual Holiday World tourism fair, which is to take place in Prague on 18–21 February 2016, China will present itself as the guest of honour. The partnership is not only the result of diplomatic talks at the official intergovernmental level, but also talks between the China National Tourist Office (CNTO), CzechTourism and Incheba Expo Praha. China will be presenting at a dominant booth in the central hall of the Industrial Palace, bringing with it a great range of Chinese tour operators. It will be promoting direct air connection between Prague and Beijing through Hainan Airlines and will also roll out a rich cultural programme for the general public as part of celebrations of the Chinese New Year.
